Nelson Hall Bench
Jamb
Description:
The solid, dished seat over conforming seat rails on square tapered legs united by an H-form stretcher. Hall seat furniture with no upholstery or fabric coverings were primarily used by servants waiting for their employer’s orders. Tennant farmers and those from the estate, wearing outdoor clothes, would be expected to wait until they were summoned.
